AKW Transportation, Trafford Park, Manchester - September 2014

We were awarded the contract for epoxy resin flooring at the above site. The new warehouse facility measures 16,000 sq metres. All areas were vacuum blasted which cleaned the surface and also exposed any weakness within the existing floor. In the areas of weakness A320 floor planer with a fine mulling drum was used to reduce the floor surface by 6mm or until a sound substrate was found. Areas of repair were then back filled with an epoxy resin screed and brought back to a smooth surface finish.

Joints were re-cut into the floor and back filled with a two part flexible jointing compound. Once all repairs were completed the surace received one coat of epoxy primer followed by two coats of high epoxy incorporating a 36 grade aluminium oxide to give the required degree of non slip.
